A better way to access all your email accounts on Android

If you are an Android user you are probably reasonably content with the excellent inbuilt email system. But, while there's nothing wrong with it, there are definitely times when you might need email management that has a bit more clout. This will be particularly useful if you use your phone for business and especially if you have multiple email accounts. MailDroid is a free email app for Android that supports an unlimited number of email accounts whether they be from IMAP servers, cloud mail servers or the usual free email servers like Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and Gmail etc. The app was built specifically with mobile data in mind, is very user friendly and is the perfect way to manage all your email accounts whether you are in the office or out on the road.

Email management has never been quite as important as it is these days. With so many needing to access important emails from several different accounts while away from the office, it becomes much easier with an app designed specifically for that purpose. MailDroid fills that role magnificently. What’s more, it is so user friendly that you and your team will actually want to use it. The app comes in two different versions. There is an ad supported free version as well as an ad free paid version with a few extra features. Both versions handle Webdav/POP3/IMAP email management and were designed for Android. MailDroid is very simple and convenient to use and manages unlimited email accounts as well as supporting all the well-known email servers including IMAP, cloud and free. This includes Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, FastMail, Gmail, AOL Mail, iCloud Mail, rediffmail, GMX Mail, Gawab mail, Runbox mail and any number of others. It has all the features that you would want in a mobile email application and IMAP users can sync draft mails, sent mail and deleted mail and have POP3 preload capability. In a pleasant surprise, the developers focus on customer feedback to constantly improve the service and listen to their business customers to deliver features that are both forward thinking and inspiring. To give you an idea, the app saves you time by allowing you to delete emails locally from both the device AND the server, as you finish with them. The app also gives alerts to remind you to move specific emails to relevant folders. If security is important to you, you can use encryption capabilities with open PGP and S/MIME. You can encrypt or sign emails using open PGP in the MIME format (or Inline format) allowing you to encrypt and sign emails using S/MIME. MailDroid is packed solid with great features - there are over 24 listed in their manifesto - and it would take me a month of Sundays to tell you about all of them now. However, if you are looking for a reliable, powerful and feature packed email management application for Android then you should certainly investigate MailDroid in more detail.

There are a few email management apps for Android that will do the job that this one does. K-9 is the probably the best known and MailDroid stands up well in comparison to it. It will be of great use to business users holding multiple email accounts because of its excellent email overview as well as its power and flexibility. The MailDroid default email view only displays the top part of each email with just text but no images shown until you open each email. This gives the viewer a better overview of all incoming messages. On the downside, the app currently doesn't support Microsoft Exchange - though the developers have stated that it will be added soon. If I have a slight beef then it's probably with the price of the ad-free version. It seems to me that 18 bucks might be a little steep for most people to pay just to get rid of the ads and with only a few extra features added. However, that’s a minor detail as the free version seems to achieve everything it sets out to do and will definitely make your email management a much more comfortable affair.
